• Free Play– Set the stones out in a bowl or basket and let the child explore.  After a moment ask, “Can you tell me a story?”
  • Beginning, Middle, End– Choose three stones for the beginning of the story, three more for the middle of the story, and three more for the end of the story.  Start with all the stones face down.  Turn over the first three stones and ask your child to tell a story with those elements. Continue as such. Write down the child’s story, and perhaps document it with pictures.
  • Progressive Story– With a group of three or more people, sit in a circle, each choose two stones at random. The youngest player starts the story using the stones they have chosen, then the second person continues the story using their Story Stones and so on.

What are the ways you use your Story Stones?
